ABOUT MAGNOLIA ROAD

Magnolia Road was first formed in 2007 for a one-time show in Western Washington.  It went so well that we didn't want to quit.....ever!

Four of our members sing, but our two primary vocalists are Flo Schandl and Sean Clark.  Sean is also is a fine guitar and keyboard player, too.  Joe Basso plays bass and I play lead guitar and write songs.

Flo Schandl of Seattle Rock Band Magnolia RoadEveryone loves Flo Schandl.  She has a huge heart--and a huge voice.  She sings lot of things really well, but she seems to really get excited about the classic rockers like Heart's "Crazy on You," "I've Got the Music in Me" by the Kiki Dee Band, and Led Zeppelin's "Rock 'n' Roll."  We have been trying to get her to play something else--a guitar, keyboard, even a tambourine--but no luck yet!

Seattle Rock Band Magnolia Road: Sean ClarkSean Clark is a great guy and has a great musical sense.  He has a voice that sounds a bit like Eddie Vedder or maybe John Fogerty.  You can always count on him to play the right thing at the right time to make a performance better.  The guy is a kick to play with on stage and he is always either laughing with (or at) me....  Sean and I also play in a Seattle rock band called The Brakes (www.meetthebrakes.com) that focuses more on the classic rock tunes.

Joe Basso of Seattle rock band Magnolia RoadJoe Basso plays bass and sings.  He has played in many bands over the years and fronted many of them including High Gravity.  Joe is a songwriter and recorded a solo CD before joining up with us.  Equally at home on several instruments, he plays bass with Magnolia Road.  He lives up the street from me.

Our newest member is drummer Rob Moya.  What a great find he is!  When we first played Seattle Rock Band Magnolia Road: Rob Moyawith him, we immediately liked him and knew he would fit in.  He claimed that he was rusty, but he seemed pretty darn good....  Now, every time we play together, the entire band is better as a result--not only is his playing great, his read on how to make the arrangements better is extremely helpful.

Since that first gig, we have been working hard to become a great Seattle band.  We have a lot of fun..and so do our audiences!
