Joe Basso of Seattle Rock Band Magnolia RoadJoe Basso of Seattle Rock Band Magnolia Road

Bio:  Joe Basso was born a poor, politically-correct child in the mountains of Florida.  Drafted by the US Air Force during World War II, Joe was immediately recognized for his potential as a space shuttle test pilot.  Competing with some of the finest test animals ever recruited by the US government, Joe quickly distinguished himself as one of the elite, however, not quite the best.  It was during these early years that Joe began to play the guitar and various other instruments.  He was also asked by his fellow pilots not to sing.  In spite of a chorus of protest, he began to do so.  His first professional performance was in a male topless bar in his adopted Latvian homeland.  Since those days he has developed into an international star drawing huge crowds in Bahrain, Luxembourg, Lesotho, and the Maldive Islands.  It is not clear why he draws these huge audiences.  Joe has been a key part of many, many bands.  He has used his musical prowess to play many roles with these bands with many different instruments.  In fact, he has played in bands that he has fronted, backed, sided, cornered, and stalked.  In fact, Sean is on record as saying that he is not altogether comfortable with the way Joe waits outside of his house for him every night and morning.

THE BASS GUITAR PLAYER RESPONDS:

The greater half of it is true.  The rest, pure myth. For instance I have never set foot on the Maldives ('tho a cousin once was. She and I look similar, I suppose).  This band, against my wishes, has pasted my bio all over the web because I have for so long refused to list my gear, fave performers, or quirks herein.  Well, I can live with it, because I know 40% of the bio is pure myth.  Understand, I am now typing this only because the other band members have crossbows, drawn and aimed -- so I'll type a quick BASS GUITAR PLAYER RESPONDS, then hit the "Send" key.  Let it be known: my bass guitar has four strings.  It plugs into an amplification what-do-you-know with a lead. My first music hero was Little RichardAlan Turing is the other.  Good musicking is music that moves the body to dance and the spirit to love.  My religion has something to do with the sun.  I do not eat meat; I do not eat; breath is my sustenance.  I kid you not.  And the rest ... well, it goes without saying.
